With International Day just around the corner, the Simon Lawrence Library would like to shine a light on our ever-growing collection of books in other languages.

International Day 2019

Did you know that the Simon Lawrence Library has significantly increased the number of books in the World Languages section since last year? As a result of hard work, the library has added interesting books in different languages including French, German, Japanese, Spanish and Thai. In celebration of the High School International Day 2019, our World Languages section has moved to the display area next to the library entrance in order to encourage students to read more books in their mother tongue during this week. In our interconnected world, Multilingualism plays an essential role in terms of improving children’s cognitive development. According to UNESCO, it also gives children the opportunity to learn about other cultures and languages to respect diversity and difference, which is directly connected to the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 4 - Quality Education. We hope you enjoy reading our collection.
