Primary School Library: Book Week raises funds

Over 25,000 baht raised for new books and charitable donations; Please note there are Library closures on Wednesday and Friday this week; Library Monitor applications are now open for Term 2...

Book Sale Week

Our new and used Books Sale Week was a very busy one with parents and children spending lots of time with the vendors and buying many interesting books and games. Ninive Games set up outside the library and taught games to excited KS1 and KS2 children across both lunchtimes.

Book Sale Week

Thank you once again for your amazing support. We would not be able to run these events without it and we certainly wouldn’t be able to earn the commissions to buy new books and also raise money from donated, used and unwanted books to give to charity.

The commissions we received this time are:

  • Kinokuniya 10,000 baht

  • Asia Books 2088 baht

  • Paragon Asia 6850 baht

  • Ninive Games 3200 baht

  • Used books 3105 baht

Library Closure Days

Please note that the PS Library will be closed during THIS WEEK as follows:

  • Wednesday 4th December - PS Library WILL CLOSE at 2.15 pm for setup/ preparation

  • Friday 6th December - PS Library WILL BE CLOSED ALL DAY due to annual merit-making ceremony

We will place a basket outside the door for returned books but no access will be granted to the library after school on either day or for borrowing during Friday. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your kind cooperation.

Library Monitor Applications Are Now Open for Term 2

If your son or daughter is in Year 4,5 or 6 and would like to apply to be a Library Monitor next term we have application forms available in the library for them to complete and return to us by Wednesday 11th December please.

The requirements are :

  • Being prepared to give up a lunch break to help in the library - Library Monitors are rostered on a minimum of one lunch break per week

  • Being polite and helpful

  • Being organised

  • Showing an interest in and promoting the library

  • To do library jobs to best ability

We will look forward to introducing our new team to you early in the New Year.

Design a T-Shirt for Tanzania - our NEW ‘Design Challenge’

We know how much our children in the PS Library love a 'design challenge' so when our colleagues at the HS asked us to help them raise funds for the upcoming Year 12 Service trip to Tanzania we couldn't resist.

Your mission should you choose to accept it is to design a t-shirt following the instructions on the poster below, submit your entry or entries on A4 white paper together with a 20 baht (per entry) donation and collect your house point/s. Simples!

We can't wait to see all the entries which should be handed in to the PS Library by Friday 6th December please. Thank you for taking part.

Library Opening Times and Lounge in T-building

Parents are welcome to relax and share books with their children in the library before and after school, but please remember that during the school day, the library is a teaching space.

The PS Library is open to parents from 07:00 - 07:45 am and 2:30 - 4:00 pm. Children should be accompanied by a parent/guardian during these times. 

If you would like to relax whilst waiting to collect your children we invite you to please use the Lounge at Room T21 on the 2nd floor of the T-building where there are comfortable sofas, aircon, tea/ coffee and washroom facilities. Thank you for your cooperation.
