Lost Property Reclaim
The Lost Property Reclaim at Primary School continues on Tuesday 3 December 2019. Please stop by to claim your items. Items will be laid out on tables in front of the sports hall, alongside the pool. Please note that anything left behind will be sold for charity or donated to charity.
Parent initiatives on the PTG FB page
One of the PTG’s tasks is to build the school community, and we’re so pleased to see various initiatives that parents have volunteered to set up.
One example is the following initiative set up by Rachel and Claris. Their ultimate goal is to reduce waste and promote re-use and upcycling – by providing a forum for parents to buy, sell, or swap items such as pre-loved sports equipment, costumes, or musical instruments. Here’s the link to their post.
Another group that was created by STA parents – Sarah, Laura, and Bousakorn – is Green Jedis Thailand, a forum for sharing tips for sustainable living in Thailand.
During our times of climate emergency, it is fabulous to see such positive initiatives that we can join to turn our eco-anxiety about our children’s future into a positive force for change!
PTG Coffee Mornings
The PTG Coffee Morning on Careers and Higher Education was very well attended, with Ms Beverley expertly providing a broad overview of the process and answering the many questions parents had. Please find Ms Beverley’s presentation here. Please also note that the information contained in the slides is subject to change as the universities update their profiles for the coming year!
While that brings to a close our November Coffee Mornings series, we are busy planning more Coffee Mornings for January and February 2020. Dates and details will be posted as and when they become available. Do get in touch if there is a certain topic you would be interested to hear discussed.
Christmas Fairs
Looking for Christmas gifts? Don’t forget to check out the vendors at STA’s Christmas Fairs at Primary (Weds 11 Dec) and High School (Thurs 12 Dec). While these fairs are not as big as Fun Day, we will still be having vendors of food and gift items, so please come along and check them out!
PTG Activities – sport, art, and more
Sign-ups for a range of PTG activities for parents will open in January – you will be informed by email. The activities require a minimum number of people registered, so once the list is out, please do have a look to see if there’s anything that takes your fancy! In the meantime, BASE bootcamp is offering 10% off all BASE packages for STA parents if you wish to continue your training over the holidays (write to info@basebangkok.com).
Parent Satisfaction Survey
We encourage all parents to fill in the 2019/20 Parent Satisfaction Survey sent out by school. Please get in touch if for any reason you did not receive it. The deadline for completion is Friday 31 January 2020.
Dates for your diary
The next PTG meeting open to all parents is scheduled for Wed 15 January 2020, 8:15 am, Jo Adamson Theatre, High School. If there are specific topics you would like to see discussed, please email us at ptgchair@standrews.ac.th.
The next Friday Night Drinks session will be held on 7 February 2020, details to follow.
