Head’s Lines: Making up for lost time

Thursday this week will run with a Monday timetable as we try to address the imbalance in the timetable due to the many public holidays...This past weekend our Primary gymnasts and basketball players performed to incredibly high standards and showed how much progress they have made this year through hard work and determination.

As you will be aware of from the SMS and emails that were sent last week, the government has announced a new national holiday to celebrate the Queen’s Birthday. Therefore St Andrews International School Bangkok will be closed on Monday 3 June, the official Birthday of Her Majesty the Queen Suthida Vajiralongkorn.

There was a great atmosphere at the High School campus last Friday with the U11 FNG basketball game. A full house was in attendance with the Sports Hall bleachers rollicking from the raucous exuberance of our own parents and students, as well as those from visiting teams, all enjoying the event together. The Primary and High School dance teams added to the excitement with some truly awesome performances. Certainly a exultant way to finish the week and lead into a Saturday Flames basketball U11 3on3 Championship.

As so many of the official holidays this year have fallen on a Monday, many important Monday lessons have been missed. To balance up the number of lessons across the week, Wednesday 8th May followed a Monday timetable. Similarly this week, Thursday will run with a Monday timetable as we try to address the imbalance.
