Supply Teacher

Primary School / High School Cover / Supply Teacher

We are looking for experienced and inspiring teachers to join the St Andrews team as supply teachers, with the possibility of more permanent contracts becoming available in the future. Across the school, class sizes are small and the students are motivated and enthusiastic, enjoying a lively approach to a range of subjects through different teaching and learning techniques. The ideal candidates will convey enthusiasm and contribute collaboratively to the continued development of the curriculum. As mentioned, for the right candidates, there may be the possibility of moving to two-year contract, beginning in January 2021.

At St Andrews, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive school and we have an excellent reputation for supporting children with special educational needs. Experience of teaching children with specific learning needs (dyslexia, mild autism, ADHD, etc.), as well as providing a learning environment which provides the appropriate challenge for every learner, would be an advantage for any teacher wishing to join our team. Our Mission Statement and Vision commits us to meet ‘all the needs of the individual learner’ from ‘a professional group of teachers and assistants with a can-do attitude who are prepared to see the problems and then create the solutions’.

As well as their teaching, all teachers are also expected to contribute positively to the school’s pastoral systems and to become part of the whole school community through involvement in activities outside of the curriculum such as ECAs or special events, for example, our Community Fun Day.

No teacher will be appointed without at least two references, including one from the most recent employer, a ten-year criminal record check and relevant regional Prohibition Order/DBS checks.
