New topics & graduations in EAL

Thank you to all of the EAL parents who joined us for the ‘EAL pastries with parents.’ This was a great opportunity to meet one another and our new EAL teacher, Miss Amy.

The workshop included an introduction to our approach to EAL teaching and we also talked about the variety of activities we use, games, reading, the use of songs in class, our use of IT and useful web sites to use at home to support your child’s learning.

  • EAL Year 1
  • EAL Zoey graduating

This week in EAL we have started a number of new topics.

The Year 1 children have been talking about animals and where they live, Year 2 groups have been talking about likes and dislikes for both food and animals.

The Lower Key stage 2 children have been following the adventures of Ben and Lucy as they continue their search for treasure. The older children are following Phoebe, Alex and Patrick’s adventures as they travel to the Rainforest.

We continue to use Seesaw to give parents an insight into the current topics and encourage you to talk about these with your child.

Finally congratulations to a number of children who have graduated from the EAL program. Yoon (Y4), Zoey (Y2) and Sean and Cocona (Y6) – very well done!
