Year 7 Art Trip

On Tuesday 18th September Year 7 took part in an Art Expedition to Margaret Island as part of their current project ‘The Environment’. The main learning objective of the day was to draw the environment from direct observation, focusing on the formal elements of art such as line, tone, shape, texture, pattern and colour.

The day began with a carousel of drawing activities such as a continuous line in pen, tonal charcoal studies and vibrant Fauvist style landscapes. All students thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and created a beautiful sketchbook of observational studies. After lunch students took part in the Land Art Team Challenge where they collected natural objects from the environment and created innovative art forms around them.
