Loretta D'Silva

Learning Support Assistant / Performing Arts Graduate Assistant

BA (Hons) Music, University of Nottingham 

Previously to working in full time education, Loretta has held positions at various music venues and organisations such as the Royal Albert Hall. She has also worked with schools and music hubs in London to help set up programmes to assist and encourage young people's music education.

Loretta joined NAE in Malaysia in 2018 as an Assistant Teacher before moving to BISB to work with the EAL and Music departments. Whilst in Kuala Lumpur as well as working at BSKL she also took a myriad of professional development training including a TEFL course.

Loretta is committed to nurturing and developing children’s natural potential and encouraging them to be ambitious, brave and resilient in all walks of life. She is particularly committed to outstanding music education amongst children, believing that the principles learnt in music lessons can be applied to all areas of study and professional work, as well as benefiting the personal development of each child.

In her spare time, Loretta enjoys attending jazz and classical concerts and developing her musical knowledge. She also enjoys walking, running and reading, particularly older literature and non-fiction relating to political, environmental and social issues.
