A Message from the Principal

Dear Parents

The year 4 residential looked like enormous fun. Residential trips are an invaluable part of the “growing up” process. Resilience, perseverance, tenacity, all of these are skills that are best taught away from the traditional classroom.

Talking of non-traditional, the Choirfest was also superb and well done to our choir! They did us proud. Just as importantly the students who got to go and watch Cadence perform were enchanted. We’re very happy to host these artistic events. Children and young adults need to experience more than simply the core curriculum at school. NAS has always held that an enhanced overall experience leads to outstanding academic results.

Mr. Cullinan and Ms. Lamb are away in the UK this week. They are busy recruiting for Deputy Heads of School who will join us in September. As the school grows the most important task for the school management is to ensure we continue to keep our promises and ensure that we maintain the capacity to do so.

Finally; I have had some feedback from parents recently which suggests that while they are happy with our daily and academic communication, and the schools Facebook page is felt to be useful, we could do with taking a look at our calendar and ensuring that it is up to date and easy to find/use. We have already begun working on this. Constructive feedback is always welcomed.

Looking forward to the forthcoming spring Fayre…

Message from the Head of Primary

This week’s note comes to you from London, where myself and Mr. Cullinan are currently interviewing for Deputy Heads ready for September. Primary School recruitment has already been completed for the new academic year and we are confident that we have secured outstanding classroom practitioners from the UK, from Dubai and from our sister schools in the NAE family.  The three Deputy Heads that we are now seeking will provide valuable additional leadership as the school continues to grow.  This means we are working hard to secure the best possible people for the posts – interviews will continue back in the UAE next week.  I look forward to being back in school on Sunday and finding out all about the Year 4 residential and other activities that I have missed out on!

Have a great weekend!

Message from the Head of Secondary

This week has seen our student’s sitting a range of assessment across all subjects. Our students need to ensure they are revising thoroughly for these tests this data is closely monitored so I can track attainment and progress.
I also had the pleasure of observing some of the English presentations this week. I was delighted with how confident, articulate and passionate our students were in their presentations.
