NORTH BROWARD PREP’S ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

North Broward Prep School, South Florida, is open to children aged from 3-18. We accept applications all year round and new students can start at any time. Our popular residential life program, which offers a home from home boarding school experience, welcomes students in Grades 6-12 (Middle and High School).

EARLY CHILDHOOD
REQUIREMENT CHECKLIST
Wondering how to apply to North Broward Prep’s Early Childhood Program for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten? Follow our school’s application requirements below and contact our admissions team with any questions.

EARLY CHILDHOOD APPLICATION

1.  Submit an admission application. 

2.  Complete our Lower School Admission Application Supplement Form.

3.  Ask a current teacher to complete the required Teacher Recommendation Form. 

4.  Provide copies of current academic records. We require report cards/progress reports reflecting previous year and current mid-year information. We have a Request for Records Form for your convenience (if applicable). Please note that we will not accept a transcript prior to December 1 as we are looking to receive the most recent grade report. 

5.  Provide copy of standardized test scores (if applicable).

6.  Submit a copy of your child's birth certificate or passport.

7.  Admissions interview with parents/legal guardians.  

8.  Once all requirements have been submitted, the Office of Admissions will contact you to schedule an assessment and may ask to schedule a classroom visit day for your child.

North Broward Prep uses Ravenna as our online application management system. Once you complete your online application through our website, create an account on Ravenna to complete all required steps for admission consideration once you receive confirmation, via email that we have successfully received your application.

LOWER SCHOOL

LOWER SCHOOL APPLICATION: GRADES 1-5

North Broward Prep accepts Standard Application Online (SAO).

1.  Submit an admission application. 

2.  Complete our Upper School Admission Supplement Form. 

3.  Ask student’s current principal, assistant principal, or school counselor to complete and submit the required Head of School Recommendation Form. 

4.  Ask a current teacher to complete the required Teacher Recommendation Form. 

5.  Provide copies of current academic records. We require report cards/progress reports reflecting previous year and current mid-year information. We have a Request for Records Form for your convenience (if applicable). Please note that we will not accept a transcript prior to December 1 as we are looking to receive the most recent grade report. 

6.  Submit standardized test scores (SSAT, FSA, etc.) 

7.  Have the student applicant complete the Applicant Student Statement Form. 

8.  Submit a birth certificate or passport as a form of identification for the applicant. 

9. Student led interview with Admissions team.

Our policy is to require any international student, for whom we issue an I-20, to reside on campus in the International Village OR live with a natural parent who holds a status that allows for their child to study in the U.S. If you are unsure whether your status qualifies you to live off campus or in the International Village please contact your admissions officer.

HIGH SCHOOL

HIGH SCHOOL APPLICATION

North Broward Prep accepts Standard Application Online (SAO).

1.  Submit an admission application

2.  Complete our Upper School Admission Application Supplement Form. 

3.  All 9th grade applicants are required to submit an SSAT composite score. The SSAT must be administered and completed by January 15th. If you have not taken the SSAT, register to take the SSAT here and indicate North Broward Preparatory School as a score recipient. For 10th–12th grade applicants, submit standardized testing (SSAT, PSAT, FSA, etc). Please upload your SSAT results directly into your Ravenna account for your file to be considered complete.

We will be administering the SSAT at our campus on the dates listed below. Register here starting August 1.

RESIDENTIAL LIFE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Alongside our age-specific requirements for prospective day students, families who wish to apply to our residential life program (Grade 6-12 learners) must also complete our boarding application process. This includes an online interview with North Broward Prep’s Boarding Admission Manager.

LIGHTHOUSE POINT ACADEMY ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Since 1957, Lighthouse Point Academy (LPA) has been the leading South Florida school program for students with mild specific learning differences. Our program serves students in Grades 4–12 as an integral part of North Broward Prep.

ARTS ACADEMY ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Students can apply to join our prestigious Arts Academy before their 9th, 10th, or 11th grade year, pending acceptance to North Broward Prep. The application process gives learners the opportunity to showcase their skills, knowledge, and talents, in readiness for the admission committee. The committee then reviews each student’s application and audition.

Students are admitted into the Arts Academy on a rolling basis, pending NBPS acceptance.
