In 2016, the Florida Legislature passed and Governor Rick Scott signed House Bill 701 related to “Art in the Capitol” competition. The “Art in the Capitol” competition is an annual statewide visual arts competition that requires each school district to annually hold an art competition for all students grades 6 through 8 attending public schools, private schools and home school. We had the opportunity to enter 3 outstanding NB Middle School artists who were accepted in this prestigious exhibit, and are proud to announce that Carmin Kilpatrick was awarded Second Place for her acrylic Still Life painting. All artwork is currently on exhibit at The Young at Art Museum through the month of November.
