Congratulations to Coach Brian Campbell and the North Broward Prep Baseball program who had a total of FIVE players drafted in the Major League Baseball (MLB) yesterday including two members of the Class of 2019 and three alumni were selected! In addition, alum Xavier Edwards, NBP Class of 2018, and current member of the San Diego Padres Single A affiliate Fort Wayne Tincaps, was chosen to the Midwest League All-Star Team. Xavier has also worked his way onto MLB Pipeline’s top 100 prospect list. The NBP MLB drafts picks include:
- Anthony Tomczak, NBP Class of 2019. Taken in the 15th round by the Seattle Mariners.
- Matthew Corlew, NBP Class of 2019. Taken in the 23rd round by the Los Angeles Angels.
- Evan McKendry, NBP Class of 2016/University of Miami. Taken in the 9th round by the Tampa Bay Rays.
- Gregory Veliz, NBP Class of 2016/University of Miami. Taken in the 15th round by Los Angeles Angles.
- Aaron Antonini, NBP Class of 2016/Middle Tennessee State. Taken in the 18th round by the St. Louis Cardinals.
