Despite a shortened season, North Broward's debate team had another historic year and its students broke new ground. The program completed the season with a state championship title and cumulative total of 19 TOC bids, qualifying 13 students to the national Tournament of Champions in Policy Debate, Public Forum, and Extemporaneous Speaking. Several students were recognized for a stellar national season:
Junior Akash Deo and Senior Anna Farronay were recognized as the #7 policy debate team in the country by the National High School Coaches' Poll after a dominant performance at national competitions.
Seniors Tyler Katz and Andrew Peterson were recognized as the #10 public forum debate team in the country by the National Symposium for Debate. They are the most successful public forum team in North Broward history to date.
Senior Anna Farronay, Junior Akash Deo, Senior Daniel Ardity, and Junior Jay Gopal are the #1, #3, #4, and #10 policy debaters in the state of Florida according to the National Speech and Debate Association rankings as of March.
