6th graders ready for their Laker Adventure

In recognition of our crest quality UNITAS, the 6th graders celebrate next week with their Laker Adventure! This experience focuses on uniting the students, building trust, and focusing on teamwork. The start to Middle School is an opportune time to set the foundation for unity, as 6th graders’ peer groups have expanded, social relationships are changing, and a sense of belonging is at the forefront of adolescent needs. Families can “follow” the trip via these photo albums: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3. On the theme of unitas, yesterday, we enjoyed a hands-on workshop to building positive connections. Many thanks to Dr. Kortney Peagram from Bulldog Solutions for equipping students with the tools to help them strengthen their social-emotional learning skills as they build a positive sphere of influence., Emphasizing kindness, empathy, and connection, this workshop highlights UNITAS in our Middle School.  ~ Mary Beth Davies, Middle School Director
