Lower school co-curriculars are an integral part of our student life. Students participate in a well-rounded offering of Fine and Performing Arts, Foreign Language, and STEM classes. Here is a glimpse of recent happenings in our Drama and Dance classes.
Drama:
In Drama, the students have been exploring their Actors Toolbox and acting techniques used in performance. Here are some pictures showing our exploration with "Tableau" - A frozen picture where actors create a character or scene without speaking or moving. Grade 3 created - Tableau's utilizing the Fairytales they are studying in their classrooms and the concept of Beginning, Middle & End.
Dance:
In dance class this week, third graders are working on their first choreography project. They are using locomotor and non-locomotor movements to challenge their creativity while putting together a short dance phrase. They are having fun trying to think outside the box and communicate through the language of dance! ~ Melissa Fagan, Lower School Director
