Celebrating Dr. Seuss's Birthday and Read Across America

This week the Lower School Student Government hosted their peers in two assemblies celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America.  The SGA planned, prepared, and executed a fabulous celebration of reading for the student body. This celebration included special guest readers, book characters, songs, games, and a whole lot of laughter.  The students received a special bookmark and pencil from their SGA peers and culminated the morning with a picnic buddy lunch. Reading is the key to finding success and we can’t stress enough how important it is to foster a love of reading in young children.  Research has shown that the one trait the top 1% of top income earners have in common is that they read… a lot! Creating a culture of reading in your home is a gift that will give back to your child throughout their life. ~ Melissa Fagan, Lower School Director
