Reception Teacher

I have a BA (hons) in Primary Education and Religion from Bath Spa University and then my PGCE from The University of Gloucestershire. After I graduated I worked as a supply teacher in many different schools and in all year groups from Nursery to Year 6. Even when I was qualifying I knew I wanted to work abroad and so started looking for jobs in other countries which led me to my first role in Kuwait.

I worked in a British curriculum school in Kuwait for 3 years; the first 2 years were in Year 2 and then the final year was in Reception where I also took responsibility for overseeing the Early Years Department. Most recently I have been working in Dubai as a Reception teacher but with also extra responsibility as Team Leader for improving the Early Years department inspection ratings and bringing teaching and learning up to date.

I am very excited to be moving to Guangzhou and joining BSG in the Early Years Department. Having worked in the Middle East for 5 years I decided that I wanted a new challenge in a new part of the world. I am also looking forward to working for a new school who can continue to help me develop and grow as a teacher.

I enjoy doing a variety of different things in my free time. I like to explore new cities and countries around the world and experiencing new cultures and traditions. However, I am equally happy curled up at home with my cat, a good book and a decent cup of tea. I also enjoy baking and then trying new cakes and treats out on friends and family. I like to challenge myself to learn new things so am looking forward to learning Mandarin.
