I started my teaching career in South Africa where I developed a passion for sport, in particular cricket and rugby. After spending three teaching in Cape Town, my passion for travel took me to the United Kingdom where I completed my Honours Degree in Education. I went on to spend 16 years teaching in England, taking on various leadership roles including coordinating both PE and Math.
This will be my second-year teaching in China after spending a year teaching Year 2 at an International British School in Shenzhen. I am very excited to be joining the Nord Anglia family and chose to work at BSG because I knew I’d be joining a school with high standards and an ambitious philosophy in line with my own.
My husband, Andy, our two sons, Ben and Sam, and our cat, Gizmo, have accompanied me to Guangzhou. They take up most of my free time, but I still find time to bake and go on long walks – two of the hobbies that I really enjoy. My whole family consider ourselves to be lovers of food and are very excited to try all the new and exciting food that Guangzhou has to offer. I absolutely love teaching! It is my mission to instil a love for learning in all of my pupils.
