Mr Trethewey holds a business degree from the University of Plymouth and a PGCE from Nottingham Trent University. He has ten years of teaching experience - three years in the UK and seven years in Hong Kong. He is a qualified and experienced middle leader.
Mr Trethewey is passionate about teaching business and economics and brings both industry experience and being an entrepreneur to the classroom. He believes that teaching and learning must challenge and stretch the abilities of students and be fun, engaging and relevant to the world of today. He instils a culture of academic rigour and gives ample opportunities for all to develop their communication, leadership, teamworking and problem-solving skills.
In his spare time, Mr Trethewey enjoys both trail and road running, road cycling, indoor and open water swimming, and indulging in most sports. He has completed several ultramarathon events including the Ultra-Trail Tai Mo Shan 100 miles, Hong Kong 100 Ultra-Trail and Racing The Planet Patagonia 250 kilometres races. He has also circumnavigated Taiwan by bike and cycled from Singapore to Krabi, Thailand. Mr Trethewey also enjoys public speaking and practises his skills at Toastmasters International club meetings in Hong Kong.
