    Mr. A. Cross

    Mr. Cross graduated from Lancaster University after studying BA (Hons) Economics & Geography before going on to complete a PGCE in Secondary Geography in 2011. He gained leadership experience as Head of Geography whilst teaching for three years in Greater Manchester before moving to NAIS Hong Kong as a founding member of the school in 2014. Mr. Cross was KS3 Coordinator for three years prior to taking on his current role as KS4 Coordinator and Examinations Officer.

    Since moving to Hong Kong, Mr. Cross has completed an MA in International Education with King’s College, London through Nord Anglia Education’s professional development partnership. His research focused on parental motivations for choosing international schools in Hong Kong.

    Mr. Cross has taught GCSE, A-Level and IBDP Geography and is passionate about creating an inclusive teaching environment for all learners. He aims to facilitate student progress through both traditional techniques and new technology, drawing on his own travel experiences to make his subject more meaningful and engaging for his students.

    In the summer of 2019 Mr. Cross travelled to Nepal to help lead a professional development programme for Nepalese teachers in a limited resource context. This enabled him to combine both his love of travel and exploring new cultures and places with his passion for teaching.

    In his spare time, Mr. Cross enjoys a range of sporting activities, notably football and running. He likes nothing better than spending a weekend exploring one of Hong Kong’s many hiking trails and finishing of the day at the beach.

    Mr Doherty graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BA (Hons) in Communications. He has been teaching internationally since 2005 in South Korea, China and Hong Kong and holds a LTCL Diploma in TESOL and a PGCE in Secondary Education.

    Mr.G. Isbell

    Mr. Isbell studied History in the historic City of Bath England and completed his PGCE at Exeter University before moving onto teach History and Geography for 8 years at Dubai’s leading international IB school before moving to Hong Kong in 2019. He garnered considerable IB Diploma experience there holding the role of CAS Coordinator, Internal Assessment & Extended Essay supervisor and teacher of Theory of Knowledge.

    Mr Isbell is passionate about teaching History and Geography and view’s understanding of both subjects in tandem as a means to connect students to, and make sense of, the complex wider world we all live in. He was lead teacher on Camps International expeditions to rural Cambodia working in the community amongst other things building eco-toilets. He has spent time teaching students in Tokyo and Bolgatanga Ghana and lived in Sydney.

    Mr. Isbell is also a proud father of five year old twins Alice & Arthur, and along with his wife Silvia, a role that occupies most of their time outside of school. He can often be seen cycling around Sai Kung and enjoys playing a tennis, hiking and exploring the fantastic city that is Hong Kong.
