Liz M.

Basketball Captain

The ball bouncing off the court floor sends an echo through the crowded gymnasium. All eyes are on her as she sets her hands around the basketball, setting the perfect arch in her wrist. Her fingers are light as she focuses on the basket. One more free throw will pull her team ahead of the competition. She breathes in, and lets the ball fly.

Elizabeth (Liz) M. is a senior at The Village School. She is a passionate young lady who loves to play basketball and write music. She is also the younger sibling of Chris M., a member of The Village High School’s inaugural graduating class in 2012.

Liz has been a student at Village for three years. During her time at Village, she has excelled in a number of areas. She is involved in many extra curricular activities including captain of the varsity basketball team, member of Village’s Ambassador program, yearbook and National Honor Society. Her ability to be successful in a wide variety of areas and commitments has taught her how to manage her time. This will certainly help her be successful as she transitions to college life to study biology and pursue a career in medicine.

She is quick to credit her tremendous support system. “My grandparents and my mom are my biggest support system. I also love the staff at Village because they are helpful and care about you beyond the classroom and the court.” The Village School is proud of Liz and all of her accomplishments. We certainly wish her well in her future.
