Primary School News

Highlights from our primary school this month

Update from our Head of Primary

For the past few months, we have been focusing on being caring and kind to others. Some of our display boards in school show the Bucket Filling initiative where students have recorded a kind deed they have done for another child.

As a Primary team, we are constantly reminding our students to use kind words towards each other. We have zero tolerance for bad words and gestures so we encourage parents to reinforce this at home and ensure that children are not exposed to bad words through media or real life. We will also inform parents if we hear your child say inappropriate words.

Grade 4 and 5 students recently listened to a talk from an Online Safety expert - Jonathan Taylor. Some parents also attended his talk in the evening. After hearing him speak, I would like to also encourage parents to be more vigilant about monitoring your child´s online use, especially when it comes to watching certain shows on YouTube and playing online games. This is an excellent website to learn more about digital citizenship.

Celebrating Women
Primary students celebrate International Women's Day

Grade 5 students celebrated International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March by informing the younger students about why this day is important and what they have learned so far in class about gender equality.

Event Highlights

An exciting month for our Grade 5 choir who travelled to our sister school, The British International School Bratislava in Slovenia, to participate in the Big Sing. Joining over 200 students from 10 schools spanning seven European countries, they performed at the city's Slovak Radio Building accompanied by a live professional accompaniment band and an accapella group.
