Dear DCIS Parents and Guardians,
It was tremendous to see so many parents and guardians at the Parent Curriculum Evenings this week. It was a great opportunity to communicate to parents about the enhancements we have made to our curriculum provision in both secondary and primary. If you weren’t able to make the evening, then you should have received the slides. Please contact your child’s class teacher for a copy of the presentation.
I was also privileged to attend the first DCA meeting that was also extremely well attended. Their first event, the DCA Family Picnic, is this weekend and I look forward to seeing families there. You will have read that the Zika virus has been detected in the eastern part of the Singapore. As with all public health incidents, it is important to make sure you obtain the correct advice so I suggest looking at the relevant public health websites (The MOH website has an excellent section including a list of symptoms and frequently asked questions:
The virus is spread by the same type of mosquito as Dengue fever so the prevention techniques are the same and we continue to remain vigilant at school to all anti-mosquito actions.
I hope that you are all starting to settle in to your new academic year routines, and your children are telling you all of the exciting things they have been doing at school. I look forward to seeing you at the DCA Family Picnic on Saturday.
