This year RCL is representing Thailand. Daisy and Anda’s mums both came in to talk to the children about Thailand. The children sat beautifully and listened to Daisy’s mum reading a story called the ‘The Brave Little Tuk-Tuk’ .The children enjoyed the story so much they have been looking at the book independently and telling the story to each other and they have decided that we need to make a tuk-tuk for UN Day.
Anda’s mum explained that the map of Thailand looks like an elephant’s head, we learned that the North of Thailand has forests and mountains and that this is where the elephants can be found. We also saw pictures of rice fields, landmarks, Siamese cats, Thailand’s flag and we learned how to say hello in Thai.
To finish off a lovely afternoon RCL were very lucky as Daisy and Anda’s mums brought the children some traditional Thai snacks for them to try and they were very yummy!
We would like to say a big thank you to Daisy and Anda’s mums for coming in to talk to RCL about Thailand. We have learnt so much and are very excited about making lots of lovely Thailand themed arts and crafts for UN Day on Friday. We have also been busy practicing the UN Day song!
