Majestic Moon Festival

10 November 2014

The Moon Festival celebration at AP1 this term was a triumph! With only two weeks to practice, the children in Year 4, 5 and 6 worked incredibly hard to produce a visually stunning performance for students, staff and parents.

On the day itself, all teachers and children came to school in their colourful Ao Dai. The first event was the traditional Dragon Dance which, according to the culture, is believed to bring fortune, nobility, bravery and power. Everyone was excited to watch the dragons and Mr Dia dancing with the roaring tone of the drums. Following the Dance, the children enjoyed the assemblies which were separated into two parts. The shows were about ‘The legend of the Moon and the Moon Cake’ that explained a feature of the festival history.

It was a truly wonderful celebration of our Vietnamese culture and tradition.
