Final Score: 25-9
Our U19 girls senior basketball season started with our first friendly match and win against SSIS. The match was very abrupt, with only 2 training sessions to prepare for it. We went into the game without any expectations of winning as we knew that for our first game, it would be realistic to use it as a starting point and to 'blow off the cobwebs' as Mr. Mc would say. Although, we did have one main goal of implementing our new offense tactic 'Motion' in the game. After a short run-through of the play right before the match, we started to notice that it was extremely effective against our opponents and this resulted in us scoring many baskets from running the play. But inevitably, introducing a new play takes time to be perfected and so mistakes were made, but from this one match we can already see the potential of using 'Motion' to our advantage. Not only this, but our defense tactic was extremely effective as well with interceptions here and there- all reflected in the final score of 25-9.
Considering this was our first match as a new time consisting of some players who previously have never played basketball together, it seems that more exciting things will come this year for the girls basketball team.
