This past Saturday October 15, the municipality of San Pedro through the Ministry of Planning and Urban Development organized a painting session of the pedestrian walkway on Diego Rivera between Lázaro Cárdenas and Batallón de San Patricio. The Fine Arts painting teachers Maria del Castillo Elizondo and Claudia Cárdenas Cavazos accompanied a group of their students to support with this process.

Our student Loretta Moreno from 7th grade was the winner of the design used in the walkway. Loretta won over the ideas of painters, artists, architects and students of the UANL and UDEM as well as the Culture Dept. Her design was voted on by five judges, Enrique González, Secretary of Culture and Development of San Pedro, the urbanist Javier de la Fuente and the artists Socorro Martínez, Hector Carrizosa and Beatriz Zepeda. In addition to this, dozens of attendees to the San Pedro de Pinta voted for Loretta's design when walking past the Duendes roundabout where 20 designs were showcased including two of Loretta.
