Music, dance and drama teachers.
Director of Performing Arts & Head of Dance
BA(hons), PGCE
I trained as a professional dancer at London Studio Centre obtaining the BA Hons in Theatre Dance before working as a freelance dancer and choreographer within the industry. I soon found the most rewarding aspect of my work was creating and work and inspiring others and I soon found myself working within the education sector. I have worked in a variety of educational settings within the UK in both Secondary and Post 16 education.

Dance & Drama Teacher
I am a fully-qualified and experienced Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) teacher, with many years of experience in British schools. I have danced in a variety of styles from the age of four and competed for twelve years, in which time I was European Dance Champion for Hip-Hop and England Dance Champion for Musical Theatre dance. I attended a performing arts school in Britain at Birmingham Ormiston Academy, and gained A* grades in ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern and hip-hop.
Head of Drama
Having worked as both a Drama and Maths teacher in the UK for a number of years, I moved to international education in 2017. I taught at NACIS Shanghai, Nord Anglia’s first China Bi-lingual school for 4 years, staging productions; developing the collaboration with Juilliard; and launching the IB Theatre curriculum.
Head of Primary Music
BMus (hons)
I have been fortunate to have enjoyed a varied musical career after graduating from the University of Surrey. After eight years as Director of Music at a prestigious, central London, all-boys prep school, I juggled a busy performing schedule as a pianist, violinist, viola player, and choral singer. As a touring musician, I have performed in several of the UK’s finest concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall and the Barbican, and as far afield as the United States, Russia, and The Philippines.
Head of Secondary Music
Before I came to China, I was a full-time professional trombonist, performing with professional orchestras such as the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville or the Berliner Symphoniker, but also with many other groups. As a highlight, I did a 3-year world tour with Spanish Flamenco dancer Rocio Molina in her show Bosque Ardora and enjoyed working with great performers in almost 15 different countries
Early Years Music Teacher
MA
Since my parents are also musicians, I've always had a passion for music. I started studying the piano and singing with mother from the age of 5, and flute with my father at the age of 13. When I was 15, I was invited to a competition in Japan and won first prize in both the solo and chamber music events. Since then I decided to become a musician and went to the United States to study more flute. After graduating, I started to work for the University of Houston, where I stayed for two years.
Teacher of PE & Dance
My name is Yuki. I have been teaching PE and Dance at BSG for more than 5 years. During the summer of 2018, I was invited to The Juilliard School, located in New York, where I received excellent Dance CPD. During 2018-2019, I started teaching the Juilliard Dance Curriculum for KS1 and it was an amazing experience. The chance to bring to life the outstanding dance curriculum for all BSG students to experience and enjoy has been one of my highlights of my teaching career so far.
