Year 2 Teacher & Learning Leader

BA (hons), PGCE

Before beginning my degree, I spent a year working as a Teaching Assistant in Beijing. I had always wanted to be a teacher, but it was my year here that really affirmed my desire to work with, educate and inspire young minds. This was also where I developed my love of travelling! Upon returning to the UK, I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of East Anglia before moving on to complete a PGCE at the same university.

After qualifying as a teacher, I got my first teaching post at the British College of Brazil in São Paulo where I spent 4 years. During my time at the school, I taught across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, as well as taking on roles coordinating Maths and English. I also had the pleasure of directing three school musicals in two years (The Lion King, Bugsy Malone, and Giraffes Can’t Dance) and I count this as my personal favourite achievement!

Travelling has become a big part of my life in recent years and I have been lucky enough to explore parts of Europe, Asia, and North and South America. I’m slowly ticking off the 7 Wonders of the World and I’m at 4, so I’m over half way! I really like most sports, but football is by far my favourite and I enjoy both playing and watching it – I’m a Manchester United supporter, but I’ll watch any football! I’m a big fan of all things literary and I love reading, writing and drama in equal measures. I also love singing and dancing and you’ll probably find me doing both around school…
