University Degree: BA Broadcast and Journalism, PGCE
I have a BA in Journalism, Communications and related fields from the University of Leeds, and a PGCE in Sociology, Psychology and Citizenship from Keele University. I am currently a Principal Examiner for the International Baccalaureate which involves taking a lead role in standardization, writing mark schemes, subject reports and examiner training materials for Paper 1. I have taught IB Psychology for around 7 years in another Nord Anglia International School in Bangkok and am enjoying teaching both the GCE and International Psychology A-Level here at BSG.
I am also looking forward to continuing to teach History as I have a real passion for the subject and have taught both KS3 and IGCSE History previously. After teaching in Bangkok for around 10 years, I felt that a new challenge was well overdue. When the opportunity to live and work in an exciting and dynamic city like Guangzhou became available, I knew it was time to make the short move across South East Asia to China.
I like to think that I’m quite an active person, I enjoy keeping fit at the gym, running and cycling and being outdoors whenever possible. Having two young children also keeps me busy and I’m hoping to take them to see lots of new and exciting places as I love to travel and experience the people, food and culture of different countries. I am also hoping to learn some Mandarin as I believe that learning the language of a place opens up a whole new aspect to living and working overseas.
