The CAS experience I will talk about is my volunteer work with an animal shelter organization called FAPF (Foundation of Animal Protection in Füzesabony), where I helped to raise money for the organisation and awareness about homeless dog shelters.
This connects to my Service module, where I helped the organisation with a dog photoshoot to raise money for their shelters, cleaned their storage unit and held an online auction with items donated from parents and teachers.
Throughout this experience, I developed CAS learning outcomes such as initiating and planning a CAS experience, demonstrating engagement with an issue of global significance, and demonstrating the skills and recognising the benefits of working collaboratively.
The most enjoyable part of this experience was working with many different adorable dogs and being able to help them. It's extremely rewarding seeing how happy they are with their new owners and how well the shelters treat them.
I have learned that I can work well with others, from within my school and outside, and there are many benefits of collaborating. I also learned that I am able to plan and carry out CAS experiences fairly well. Overall, this was a very interesting and rewarding experience that I can highly recommend.
