On Saturday 5th February, our U14 Girls’ Basketball Team travelled to AISB for their DVAC Festival. With only five girls able to play in this event, they performed fantastically well. The girls made excellent use of tactics: deciding when to implement full and half-court pressing and selecting passing options over the often more-favoured dribble, to conserve energy levels for the duration of the day.
The girls were quick and assertive on offensive and defensive rebounds and made smart off-the-ball moves to constantly support each other throughout every game. Unfortunately, lack of substitutions proved to be a challenge and fatigue got the better of the girls in the final stages of their tougher matches. A fantastic team effort regardless, and the girls should be extremely proud of their performances. The final results were as follows:
BISB v AISB’s Second Team: 22-27 Loss
BISB v AISB’s Third Team: 54-14 Win
BISB v Britannica: 13-16 Loss
A huge well done to all the girls involved and we look forward to our upcoming fixtures and the DVAC tournament at the end of the season.
