Last week, our own mini chefs celebrated the end of their Co-curricular Activity (CCA) with some delicious waffles and fluffy crumpets, decorated with cream, syrup, strawberries, bananas and some chocolate chips.

This marked the end of our six-week CCA in which they made a variety of sweet and savoury dishes - stripy salad pots, honey biscuits, pizzas and vanilla cupcakes. Along the way, they also learnt about the importance of kitchen safety as well as being introduced to different kitchen equipment. Our chefs learnt some vital culinary skills which included weighing ingredients, knife skills, mixing, presentation skills as well as working as a team. When our chefs weren't busy preparing food, they designed their own recipe books so they can continue to practise their skills at home.

Here's what some of our chefs told us...

“We learned how to make pancakes, honey biscuits and waffles. The best was the waffles. When we made them, I thought they would be yummy. But then we added chocolate and sprinkles and the chocolate melted onto the waffles. I took a bite and thought "I want more". That was the best!” Mila, Year 2

“I like how sometimes we made both sweet and savoury things.” Marisa, Year 3

“I liked mixing the dough for waffles, making them and the best was eating them!” Abi Korn, Year 2

“I liked making everything! I can’t choose one – it was so good!” Deliah, Year 2
