Dear parents,
We have some very exciting news to share with you! As the Senior Changemakers have been busy planning out a series of projects and one of which we have continued to work on from last year is the Rewilding project, we are excited to announce that the planting process begins next Monday (7th of November) after school!
The goal of this project is to improve biodiversity in the green spaces around the school and improve student well-being by increasing the accessibility to wildlife. Using the grant that was awarded by the NAE Charitable Giving Committee from the last academic year, we purchased different species of bulbs which mostly are suitable to Hungary’s climate as well as the soil, so that they have a greater chance of growing up successfully and hopefully becoming permanent members of our lively school environment.
In our selected area (the area outside the school building, near the warehouse where sports equipment is stored and close to the running track), we have placed several steppingstones in circular patterns on the area and a fence, with the help of the school’s amazing gardening and maintenance team!
We are definitely ready to move on to the phase we have been waiting for: planting next Monday!
The members of the rewilding projects welcome any students, teachers and parents interested in participating in this exciting project to plant with us!
