Wolves Shine at the Under 11 Nord Anglia Global Games in Prague

4

Last week, 24 of our primary student athletes travelled to Prague to represent our school at the Under 11 Nord Anglia Global Games: Europe (NAGGE). After months of dedicated training in football and basketball, the students were eager to showcase their skills on the international stage.

Saturday Highlights

The boys began their competition with basketball. Adjusting to the smaller court size took some time, resulting in two group stage losses and one win. However, the team found their rhythm during the play-offs, showing great determination and teamwork to win both games and secure a commendable 5th place finish.

Meanwhile, the girls kicked off their tournament with football. In a demanding six-game schedule, they delivered an impressive performance: winning three games, drawing two, and losing just one. A standout moment was their 2-2 draw against the eventual champions from Barcelona—remarkably, our girls were the only team to score against them. Their efforts earned them a well-deserved 3rd place podium finish.

Sunday Highlights

On Sunday, the teams switched sports. The boys moved to football, where they mirrored their basketball performance with one win and two losses in the group stage. Their play-off matches were tightly contested, both decided by penalty shootouts. After defeating La Cote in the first round, they narrowly lost to Madrid, ending the tournament in 6th place.

The girls, unfortunately, faced a series of injuries that affected their basketball performance. Despite battling hard over six games, they drew one and lost the rest—three of those losses by just one or two points, demonstrating their resilience and fighting spirit.

A Weekend to Remember

The weekend was a fantastic celebration of sport, teamwork, and determination. Our students represented the school with pride, showing excellent sportsmanship and a true commitment to each other. Congratulations to all who took part!
