BISB Students Achieve Exceptional IB Diploma Results in 2026

This year's graduates achieved an impressive average IB Diploma score of 34.3, significantly above the global average of 30.88, alongside an exceptional 98.6% pass rate. Demonstrating the strength of achievement across the cohort, 17.8% of students earned 40 points or higher, placing them among the highest-performing IB students worldwide and reflecting their ambition, resilience, and commitment throughout the Diploma Programme.

Reflecting on this year's achievements, Principal Chris Russell said:

"This is another exceptional year for our students and the entire BISB community. These outstanding IB results reflect the dedication and perseverance of our students, the expertise and commitment of our teachers, and the strength of our challenging IB programme.

This year, our 74 graduates have collectively spent more than 525 years at BISB, reinforcing what we see year after year that a strong sense of belonging and continuity of education contribute significantly to student success leading to BISB consistently out performing IB world averages.

While we celebrate these academic achievements, we are equally proud of the young people our students have become. Through their social impact initiatives, Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) experiences, competitive sport, participation in Model United Nations and engagement in the performing arts, they have developed compassion and confidence along with a truly global perspective.

It is always difficult to see such a remarkable group of young people leave our care. However we are immensely proud of all they have achieved and the wide ranging University destinations they have secured. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for them."

As Mr Russell notes, the achievements of the Class of 2026 extend far beyond their academic results. They represent years of ambition, perseverance, and personal growth, supported by the expertise of our teachers and the partnership of our families. Throughout their time at BISB, these students have embraced opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, developing into thoughtful, resilient, and globally minded young adults who are exceptionally well prepared for the next stage of their journey.

Their success reflects the breadth of a BISB education, where academic excellence is complemented by meaningful experiences in leadership, service learning, creativity, sport, and international collaboration. It is this balance that equips our students not only to achieve excellent results, but also to make a positive contribution wherever their futures take them.

As our graduates prepare to begin the next chapter of their lives at leading universities around the world, we congratulate each and every one of them on this remarkable achievement. We are immensely proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in their communities and beyond.
