On Saturday 9 May, students from our three Nord Anglia schools in Shanghai - NAIS Pudong, BISS Puxi and NACIS - came together for a one-day STEAM Bootcamp, hosted at BISS Puxi. It was a brilliant opportunity for students in Years 7–9 to connect across campuses, take on hands-on challenges, and apply their creativity and problem-solving skills in exciting, real-world contexts.

The team set off to Chengdu to compete in the first NAE Multisports games since 2019. Twenty-one boys and girls, from Years 4 and 5 were looking forward to competing in a two-day tournament of athletics and football. For most of these students, this was their first sports tour and there was a great deal of excitement, sprinkled with a touch of nervousness.

Students applying to the United States have earned acceptances from respected universities like New York University, Tufts University, University of Southern California and University of California San Diego.

Twenty of our dedicated Duke of Edinburgh IA participants - eight Bronze and twelve Silver students - embarked on their practice Adventurous Journey to Chongming Island. Over two days, the students cycled an impressive 89km, developing resilience, teamwork and independence along the way.

The British International School Shanghai, Puxi, opened its brand new Golf Training Centre: a state-of-the-art facility featuring two hitting bays installed with the latest Garmin R50 simulators, and a large putting green for children to practise. Principal Andrew Lancaster gave an opening speech, followed by a session with Pro. Jovick Lee (PGA coach), who gave the children a lecture on using the cutting-edge equipment, sparking excitement among budding golfers.

The BISS Lions Women’s Basketball team showed heart, resilience, and an unbreakable team spirit at the 2025 ACAMIS Basketball Red Division Tournament in Suzhou from 13-15 February. Facing tough competition from Renaissance College, Chinese International School, Dulwich College Beijing, Dulwich College Shanghai, and Suzhou Singapore International School, the Lions demonstrated grit in every game.

On 16–17 December 2024, Coach Kimrossi Taylor from IMG Academy led a transformative basketball clinic at BISS Puxi. This two-day event was more than just a training session—it was an opportunity for student-athletes to experience the mindset, accountability, and elite coaching for which IMG Academy is renowned. Players honed essential skills such as ball handling, shooting, catching, passing, and decision-making, but the true value lay in what Coach Taylor taught them beyond the drills.

On 21 November, Year 12 and Year 13 students from the IBDP Business Management programme went on a trip to the Swire Coca-Cola Factory in Pudong. The visit provided our students with a unique learning opportunity to observe firsthand the operations of one of the world’s leading beverage companies. Guided by the factory representative Mr. Gu Yanbin, the group explored the state-of-the-art production lines, interacted with the industry professionals, and gained an in-depth understanding of how a multinational corporation functions in a local context.
