Superheroes in Early Years
This week we have started our new topic of Superheroes to celebrate our Steam project with MIT. The children have done a range of activities linked to superheroes.
Everyone loves Superheroes! They are certainly very popular right now, especially with our little ones in Pre-Nursery here at BSB Sanlitun. This week we have started our new topic of Superheroes to celebrate our Steam project with MIT. The children have done a range of activities linked to superheroes. These activities include exploring and investigating about superheroes, their super powers and their different names.
This led onto the children dressing up as their favourite superhero and talk about their costumes. We have also been very ambitious by “being brave and being risk takers”. We have met the challenge by using our imagination to explore a superhero obstacle course. This has helped the children develop their gross motor and cognitive skills. The children have also developed their fine motor skills through activities like threading and jigsaw puzzles.
Pre-Nursery have also used a range of ICT tools such as mouse, keyboards and torches and ipads to understand how technology works. Through this topic the children have also been developing their Maths skills by counting in sequence and one to one correspondence. What a fun week!
