Stewart is an experienced and versatile educator who has dedicated nearly three decades to teaching in various schools around the world. His international teaching career has taken him from English public schools to international schools in countries such as the UK, Denmark, Spain, Italy, and China. With a background primarily in physics and chemistry, he has served as Head of Science while also enjoying the role of a class teacher.

Stewart holds a Ph.D. from King's College, Cambridge, a Master's degree in Education and PGCE both from Open University and a Bachelor of Science from King’s College London. His teaching philosophy is grounded in ethics, authenticity, and a strong belief in the value of learning for personal growth. He embraces the importance of meaningful education that nurtures students' holistic development.

Having taught at Copenhagen International School and explored various educational environments, Stewart now feels fortunate to join BSB Shunyi. Returning to a British international school and reconnecting with British approaches, he sees this opportunity as a way to return to his cultural heritage while immersing himself in the vibrant city of Beijing. He values adventure, welcomes change, and embraces new challenges.

Throughout his life, Stewart has pursued a diverse range of interests and hobbies. He has been involved in football, rugby, rowing, fishing, cycling, and has had a passion for golf. He also finds inspiration in art, photography, food, travel, style, and culture. These experiences and interests shape his worldview and enrich his approach to teaching.

Stewart believes that life is truly wonderful and has chosen to live it fully. His commitment to providing a well-rounded education and his enthusiasm for embracing diverse experiences make him a valuable addition to the BSB Shunyi community.
