Maria is a highly accomplished art teacher with a wealth of teaching and creative experiences. She has successfully guided her students through AP Art, IGCSE Art and Design, and MYP Visual Arts, resulting in their recognition in international art exhibitions and offers from renowned universities worldwide.
Maria's own artistic achievements are equally impressive. She achieved first place in the Chinese National Jewelry Competition, and her designs have been showcased at prestigious events such as Design Week in Beijing and various exhibitions across China and Europe. These accomplishments demonstrate her exceptional talent and dedication to the art and design fields.
With a Bachelor's degree in Art History and a Master's degree in Art and Design, specialising in Jewelry Design from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, Maria brings a strong academic foundation to her teaching practice. Additionally, she holds a PGCE from the University of Nottingham (UK), further enhancing her teaching expertise.
Maria is thrilled to embark on a new chapter at the British School of Beijing, where her diverse experiences and passion for art education will undoubtedly inspire and nurture young artists. Having spent 27 years in Beijing since her early childhood, Maria has a deep connection to the city and its vibrant culture.
Beyond her professional life, Maria cherishes her role as a mother to two daughters in her multicultural family. They fluently speak five languages at home, reflecting their rich cultural heritage. In her spare time, Maria enjoys engaging in activities such as skating, listening to music, cooking, and traveling, which further fuel her creativity and zest for life.
