Seoyeon Park holds a Master’s degree in East Asian Studies with a focus on Classical Korean Literature from Sungkyunkwan University, a Master’s degree in Chinese Language Education from Shandong Normal University, and a Master’s degree in Korean Classical Translation from the Academy of Korean Studies. She also earned her Bachelor’s degree from Wonkwang University’s College of Education. She has a deep academic interest in various fields, including East Asian Comparative Literature, Classical Korean Literature, Classical Chinese Literature, and Educational Psychology.
As a graduate of a College of Education, she holds a Level 2 Secondary Teacher Certification issued by the Korean Ministry of Education. In Korea, she taught at Cheongun Middle School and the Korea Traditional Arts Middle School. Since the 2022 academic year, she has been teaching Korean to Secondary students at BSB.
Driven by her commitment to continuous growth and professional development, she is currently undertaking the IB Educator Certificates (IBEC) programme. Her motivation for completing this programme is to more effectively support colleagues and students in providing the highest quality learning experiences as an IB educator. As a teacher, Seoyeon is passionate about inspiring students’ intrinsic motivation, broadening their knowledge, and nurturing them to become considerate lifelong learners and global citizens.
She also serves as the Korean Educational Advisor in Uni Hub, supporting Korean students in their university admission process. Each year, she provides students and parents with guidance on university entrance strategies, including special admissions tracks for overseas Koreans, and invites admissions officers from leading universities in Korea to share the latest information directly with the school community.
In addition, drawing on her experience in educational psychology research, she provides one-on-one mentoring for high school students, supporting not only their academic development but also their overall wellbeing.
Beyond her dedication to education, Seoyeon has a profound passion for Korean culture, tradition, and the arts. She volunteers to run the Korean Culture CCA in Primary to promote and share Korea’s rich heritage. In Secondary, she leads the Korean Ambassador CCA with students, organising events such as Seollal (Korean New Year), Hangul Day, and the Korean Language Golden Bell Quiz to raise awareness and appreciation of Korean culture within the school community.
