On Wednesday, 4th May we joined the Hopeful Hearts team to meet little Wen Junxi, an 8-month-old boy who is in need of heart surgery. Hopeful Hearts interviewed the family to assess whether it was a case that needed their support.

The very young parents found out about the heart disease when Wen Junxi was just 4 months old. The doctor advised that the surgery would cost around RMB 60,000 and that Wen Junxi must receive treatment before he turns 1 in order to survive.

Devastated by the sad news, they returned to their hometown to start raising money, but are struggling to come up with such a large amount. They are desperate to fight for him but are truly feeling the pressure. To help pay off their debts, they have even decided that the baby’s grandpa will take care of the child after the surgery, so both parents can go back to work to earn money. We have since been informed that Hopeful Hearts will be supporting this case and will be donating a sum of money to help the family.

The surgery will be scheduled very soon. We look forward to hearing how Wen Junxi gets on with his surgery and hope he responds well and makes a quick recovery. We will keep you posted with his progress.

Thank you very much for your continuous support. Let us continue to work together to keep young hearts beating.
