Countdown

Our Lunchtime competition saw students thinking hard to find the longest word, in a given selection of consonants and vowels. Tricky!

Tuesday

Millionaires-Row Donut Party

Huge congratulations to our BSG Reading Millionaires who were awarded their long-awaited badges this week. We hope you enjoyed your donut too!

The Super-Shakespeare Quiz:

House-teams battled against each other to work out which Shakespeare quotations were from which of his plays. There was also a “Shakespeare or hip-hop lyric” round!

Wednesday and Thursday: Magic of Reading Assemblies

Key Stage3 and Key Stage 4 audiences saw some wonderfully spooky student performances, including some live readings of students’ own poetry, as well as the delivery of some very famous lines from William Shakespeare. We hope we’ve passed on the magic of reading with some of the student and teacher reading recommendations!

Thursday: “Book in a Nook” Peer Reading

Year 3 classes were very excited to come upto the secondary library to share their favourite reading books with Year 10 World Literature students. They found a nook and read their book! Well done to the younger students for being so brave and for the older students, who were excellent role models. We loved the Year 3 t-shirts with the slogan “Reading is a Superpower!”
