BSG Year 6 Graduation Ceremony

BSG Year 6 Graduation Ceremony - y6 Graduation

On Monday 23rd June, Year 6 celebrated their graduation ceremony - a milestone marking the end of their primary school journey. Parents and families turned out in great numbers to support the students as they closed this important chapter and prepared for the next stage of their education.

The event was held at the Holiday Inn in their beautifully decorated ballroom, which provided the perfect setting for such a special occasion. The Year 6 team arrived early to put the finishing touches in place and rehearse the graduation song one final time before welcoming guests into the main hall.

At 10:00am, Mr Richardson opened the ceremony with an inspiring speech that set a warm and celebratory tone for the rest of the morning. Following a fun and nostalgic memories video, teachers took to the stage to share heartfelt speeches about their classes, before inviting each student up individually to receive their graduation certificate.

Between each class presentation, the audience was treated to incredible musical performances by Ga In, Martin, Paisley, and Euan. Their rousing performances added a personal and joyful touch to the ceremony and served as a fitting warm-up to the final musical number.

After all classes had received their certificates, it was time for the Be Ambitious Awards. One student from each class was recognised for being socially ambitious, personally ambitious, or academically ambitious. The highlight came with the announcement of the Outstanding Students Award. Teachers nominated nine exceptional students who have gone above and beyond - not just academically, but also through their contributions to school life, whether in sport, the arts, or by consistently demonstrating our school values. Mr Richardson and Mr Maunder had the difficult task of selecting two overall winners from this impressive group. Congratulations to Isla McCutcheon and Isaiah Lim, our Outstanding Students for 2024–25!

To close the event, Mr Maunder gave a thoughtful speech before the entire Year 6 cohort took to the stage for a moving performance of True Colours, accompanied by our talented student band: Alicia (piano), Ga In (flute), and Dowon (violin). It was a wonderful way to end a truly memorable event.

The Year 6 team are immensely proud of this exceptional year group. It has been a privilege to guide them through their final year of primary school and to see them graduate with such grace, pride, and spirit. Whether you are moving on to Year 7 with us or relocating this summer, continue to be your brilliant selves - you are destined for great things.
