This week we celebrated Book Week; a vibrant celebration of all things reading! The week was filled with excitement as students donned creative costumes for a lively parade, honouring their favourite characters. We were thrilled to have guest parent readers join us, sharing their love for stories, along with "masked" readers from our staff, adding an element of mystery and fun to the reading experience. Overall, Book Week was a fantastic celebration that encouraged a deep love for reading and highlighted the importance of literacy in our community!

IMG Visit

We had the exciting opportunity to welcome representatives from IMG Sports Academy in the U.S. to BVIS, where they worked closely with our Year 6 students. IMG led a training session focused on developing athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Students engaged in a variety of activities designed to challenge them and improve their performance. This session, along with parent and staff workshops, provided invaluable insights into high-level training techniques, and developing and motivating young athletes. We are grateful to IMG Sports Academy for their support and expertise and look forward to building on this partnership in the future!

Collaboration between BVIS and IMG

This week BVIS welcomed two experts from IMG Academy to the school. Ms Nonalee Davis and Ms Sloan Johnson both brought a huge amount of coaching and developmental experience into the school and delivered a range of distinct sessions for parents, students and staff.

Staff members commented that they felt the sessions were helpful and informative, while students told us that they found them fun and engaging.

This visit represents the first taste of what the new IMG partnership can give to BVIS and the benefits that come from working with another company leading the world in its field of expertise.

Pastoral Update – Sixth Form

Our Sixth Form students are currently in the middle of their mock examination period. These assessments are an important stage of their learning journey as they prepare for their final examinations this summer. Mocks provide students with valuable experience of examination conditions, helping them identify areas for further focus, and build their resilience and confidence needed for success. I have been impressed with the mature and focused approach our Year 12 and Year 13 students have shown during this busy time.

Alongside their academic commitments, preparations for graduation are already well underway. A dedicated Year 13 committee has been working hard behind the scenes to plan elements of the celebration, including the creation of a special year group video that will capture memories, achievements and the spirit of this cohort. It is wonderful to see students balancing their academic responsibilities with meaningful contributions to their wider Sixth Form experience.

We look forward to celebrating both their hard work and their many accomplishments in the months ahead.
