CAS - Charity Bake Sale for Blue Sky

24 October 2014

Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) makes up one of the key areas of the IB Diploma.

On Tuesday, the 14th of October, we held a charity bake sale for an orphanage called Blue Sky who are in need of funding for operations for some of the children. We have been helping out at Blue Sky as a part of our CAS project this year. We received several donations of baked goods from several students as well as teachers. All in all we managed to raise 2486 RMB from the bake sale. All of which will be going towards funding operations at Blue Sky. Seeing as this is a long-term project that we plan on continuing with our fundraising, our next event is going to be a swimathon, which we plan on holding within the next few months and in which we hope many people will participate.

In terms of our CAS project this event involved several of our learning outcomes including “collaboration” and a “planned an initiated activity”. Both of which are very important skills needed in life. Group members would also like to thank Ms. Usher for her assistance and patience with this project.
