Primary Charity Tuck Shop

04 December 2014

Primary Charity Tuck Shop

Starting from the middle of October and for the rest of the school year there is a student-run Tuck Shop outside the Primary Leadership Team office during first break from 10:40am until 10:55am.

The shop sells healthy snacks such as raisins, rice crackers, dried fruit and much, much more. Each day, one class will get to go to the Primary Tuck Shop and spend a maximum of 20RMB. This means that each class goes to the tuck shop once every 6 weeks.

Sophie Moody-Stuart (Primary Head Girl) wrote a short article about the Primary School Tuck Shop below:

“During break times two members of the Tuck Shop team (Team Captains, Head Boy and Head Girl) set up the Tuck Shop outside the Primary Leadership Team office. Our responsibilities include: bringing out the inventory and setting out the item, getting the ‘customers’ to form orderly lines, serving the customers and making sure that they get the correct change. At the end of each session we count our takings that we have sold.

All of us have learnt valuable lessons about taking responsibility for showing up on time, selling and counting money.

This is the first year the Primary Tuck Shop has been opened at BSB. We feel that this had been a successful idea which should become a long-term feature of the school in which more children can become involved. When it is your classes’ turn, please remember to come to school with your 20 RMB!”

Tom Waterland 5GS provided his comments below:

“It’s good to have this in the school as kids like to go and buy their own snacks rather than bring them in, plus it goes to a good cause.”

All the profits that are being collected will go to support a charity that has yet to be decided.
