Brain Day - How the Teenage Brain Works. A Guide for Parents!

Dr Rosemary Taylor speaks at conferences around the world of the subject of the development of the teenage brain; why 21st Century teenagers can shock, surprise and delight us – but also challenge us in ways that we may not expect. She sheds some real light on the neuroscience whilst bringing common sense and practical advice on how to cope, how to help and, very importantly, how to stay sane! Her presentations have been described as ‘thought-provoking, engaging and insightful’ as she helps us to understand what really happening to adolescents as they navigate the challenges of school, friendships and growing up.

Dr Rosemary Taylor, Senior Partner of Key Issues, qualified as a teacher in 1980, later becoming one of the youngest Headteachers in the country. With a background in Behavioural Psychology, she went on to attain a masters degree in Leadership & Management, followed by a PhD in Change Management and now works as a consultant across both public and private sectors.

Rosemary spends part of her year as a guest speaker on the international lecture circuit, recently touring throughout Europe, the USA and Far East. Early in 2007 she was appointed as an advisor to the UN, working in the Middle East in developing senior leaders and in 2012 she was appointed as a COBIS consultant. Rosemary’s key specialisms are Intelligent Leadership; Effective Management; Developing Women Leaders; Understanding Teams; Conflict Management; Gender Issues; Critical Thinking and working with the Gifted & Talented. Rosemary also writes for a number of professional publications and journals and is a regional editor for The Good Schools Guide.
