Year 11 had a typical Sichuan style start to the day with a Mahjong workshop accompanied by many cups of green tea in the people's park of Chengdu. We had a 1.5 hour bus ride to Dujiangyan after that.

Following another delicious lunch here, we visited the Qingcheng mountain which is said to be the birthplace of Daoism. Here, students visited the beautiful temple complex dedicated to Lao zi-the founder of Daoism. They also enacted a skit and presentation on the six teachings of this ancient philosophy in this picturesque setting.

Afterwards, we visited the shopping area close to the Dujiangyan irrigation complex for purchase of souvenirs. Tomorrow, we will visit Wenchuan and stay in a beautiful Qiang guesthouse and experience their unique culture.
