Dear parents,

It has been a year since our last parent survey and what a year it has been! Since our last survey we have experienced one of the most exceptional years. The year has been punctuated by school closures, reopening, further closures and both on campus and virtual teaching. Many of our students and staff were scattered around the globe and it is only now that things here in China are slowly returning to something like normal schooling. Following this unprecedented year, it seems a good time to seek your views. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that the 2020-21 Parent Satisfaction Survey is now live and will remain open until 31 January, 2021. We hope you will take this opportunity to tell us what you think about our school and reflect your experience in your responses to what we hope are well structured questions.

A key feature of our school is its friendly and welcoming atmosphere where we greatly value the involvement and input from our student’s parents. This survey which we carry out every year is part of this. The results of this survey feed directly into the school development planning process so that the comments and feedback given by you gets acted upon.

Previous surveys have highlighted areas for improvement such as ICT provision. A lot has happened in this area with the student 1:1 iPad and lap top programme having been rolled out across the school. Academic standards are our core business, these have risen every year and the last set of examination results (summer 2020) where at record highs. An example of these would be that 57% of all IGCSE results were graded at A – A* and our average points score at IB rose to 34 Points.

I hope that many of you take the opportunity to respond as the more returns we receive the more accurate and comprehensive picture we get of what are the most important priorities for our parents and their families. Once we have collated the results we will, as usual, feedback the results so that all can see what our parents collectively see as the strengths and areas for development of our school.

The last day to respond will be 31 January, 2021.

The survey is available in 22 languages for your convenience and is accessible through a PC, Mac, tablet, iPad, or smartphone and should take you no longer than 15 minutes to complete. Each family only need to respond once on behalf of all your children. If you wish to share specific feedback, please provide that feedback in the open comment boxes at the end of the survey. We want your honest views, so your responses are anonymous and will be combined with those of other parents at our school.

Many thanks for your participation, we look forward to hearing your views.

Kind regards,

Richard Thornhill

Principal
